welcome!
PETEY GIBSON is an LA-based, Boston-bred trans comedian, actor, producer and writer. Declared by NPR as "a radical breed of comedian...at once subversive and versatile", this Groundlings-trained, internationally touring character comedian has charmed live audiences for 15 years. As a tv actor, Petey has appeared on BROAD CITY, GRACE & FRANKIE, and TRANSPARENT, as well as the EMMY-nominated doc miniseries THIS IS ME, and MASTERCARD's groundbreaking TrueName commercial, the first all-trans commercial of its kind.
As a producer, he cut his teeth on critically-acclaimed digital series MEALS WITH MARY before co-producing (and starring in) award-winning indie feature THE SYMPATHY CARD, currently on the fest circuit. As a Youth Mentor, he spearheaded the Theatre program at LGBTQ Youth Leadership Camp Brave Trails. Beyond that, Petey is currently working on a wide range of projects including HOMEBODIES - a innovative digital series aimed at motivating children to harness their energy for good in a really weird time. |
"Just as Wiig and McCarthy typify a new brand of... performer, whose humor is broad and daring and whose films flout Hollywood stereotypes by valuing friendship and self-fulfillment over romance, Gibson represents an even more radical breed of comedian. He* defies easy classification, in terms of both gender and genre. Is he a drag performer? A character actor? A stand-up? An improviser? Petey's ambiguous presentation and willingness to toy with gender make him at once subversive and versatile." -WBUR.org
